It is generally recommended to paint polystyrene cornice moldings before installing them. This allows for easier and more thorough coverage of the molding, as well as the ability to paint the entire surface without worrying about getting paint on the ceiling or walls. Additionally, painting the moldings before installation can help to seal the material and protect it from damage or discoloration over time. However, if the moldings are already installed, it is still possible to paint them in place with careful preparation and masking of surrounding surfaces. **

To cut cornice moldings at a mitered angle with an odd angle, you will need to use a miter saw with the ability to adjust to the specific angle needed. First, measure and mark the angle on the molding, then set the miter saw to the corresponding angle. Place the molding against the saw fence and make the cut. It's important to double-check the angle and make any necessary adjustments before cutting to ensure a precise fit. **
